Lefranc base coat varnish seals?and?protects?surfaces, giving them a?shinier finish?and protecting them from chemical damage and abrasion.

Lefranc base coat varnish?does not increase the initial sheen of the gilding products, and should not be used on gilding wax. It should ideally be applied 72 hours after the gilding has dried.
